Favor is a widely used concept rooted in Chinese society. Favor is based on a variety of human feelings and performs an important function in social interaction. The view of favor refers to the attitude towards human relationship which gradually comes into being from one's own need. There are little empirical studies about favor. The purpose of this study is to develop a Questionnaire of Chinese View of Favor and to make an investigation with it in china.Based on the literature review, we make a large investigation of 200 students and the community with open--ended questionnaire. Subsequently we perform in-depth interview towards people of the different occupations. On this basis, we develop an initial questionnaire of view of favor which contains 81 items. After exploring factor analysis, we develop the second questionnaire which includes six factors:reciprocity, indifference, functionality, culture, practicalness and sociality. Using the second questionnaire, the researchers investigate 985 subjects. By repeated exploring factor analysis, we develop the final questionnaire. There are six factors and 23 items. We test the structure of the final questionnaire by Structural Equation Model. The main results are as follows:(1) Chinese View of Favor is a multidimensional structure which includes six factors: reciprocity, indifference, functionality, culture, practicalness and sociality.(2)Based on the collection of items, pilot and survey, Questionnaire of Chinese View of Favor was developed, which has high validity and reliability, and could be used to assess characters of Chinese View of Favor.(3)Having investigated 985 persons from different groups, we found that there are significant differences in some dimensions. Scores among age, education levels and occupations show significant differences. In both functional and cultural dimensions, the score of group above 27 is higher than score of group under 21. On the variables of Level of education and occupation, the scores among different groups show higher difference. Chinese view of favor doesn't show differences in gender and residence. These phenomena need to be further exploration and study.
