Science inquiry is the scientific research activities when the scientists studying the scientific laws of nature. Inquiry learning is a kind of teaching practice, which is simulate the way of scientific research. The goal which new curriculum advocated is that teacher should help students to master the basic methods of scientific inquiry and cultivate the interest of inquiry learning. At present, because of the influencing factor such as history and reality, the senior high school physics teaching in our country is deeply limited by exam-oriented education. The mode which the traditional physical teaching usually choose is infusion—accept. In this style of learning process, the students are in the implant position. The main purpose of teaching activities is inheriting knowledge. These factors result in a bad situation that the innovation ability of students can not meet the needs of modern society. With the rapid development of modern science and increased international competition, people pay more attention to the cultivation of students'scientific ability. The inquiry learning is the main trend of education. In this article, we based on the theory of inquiry learning, combining the new curriculum reform of senior high school physics, deeply discuses the type, pattern, design principles of inquiry learning which is suitable for senior high school. We also conduct the inquiry learning practice and summarized it.The substance of the new lesson changes is what inquiry learning emphasize: the way of the student acquires these knowledge's should be an inquiring mode, and pointing out that the current new lesson change is a change for teaching with learning way that initiate substantially, not instilling by pure tuition with unilateral to pole. We supply the logical and practical ability training for students based on the stratified division of senior high school physics teaching contents. From this,we lay a solid foundation for students'scientific literacy and exploring spirit, and so on, the student are educated with all-directions experiment logic and the ability beginning.This paper is divided into four parts. In the first chapter, we introduce the definition, background, development situation and the significance of the inquiry learning. In the second chapter, we discuss the theoretical basis of inquiry learning. Chapter 3 and Chapter 4 are the core of these papers. In these chapters, we expound the purpose, method, form and basic procedures of inquiry learning in senior high school physics class through teaching examples. We show the practice using of inquiry learning by the example such as static friction.Our research about the theory and practice of inquiry learning in senior high school physics is valuable to improve the education method in senior high school physics teaching. It can improve the classroom teaching efficiency effectively.
