In our era when the only child has grown to be parent and educates their only child, family education has become the cornerstone of elementary education, which has received more and more attention due to its profound and far-reaching impact on students' growing up as well as school education.The school, a principal place where the only child students can study and grow, is irreplaceable and responsible in guiding and supporting family education.This essay is based on the achievements North Jincai Secondary School has reached in guiding family education. The focus is placed on the exploration of how the school can offer support to parents, what support the school can provide, and etc. It is meant to provide appropriate and effective support to family members, especially to the parents of the only child with the intention of helping them to learn the inner link between family education and the growth of children, and to improve the quality of education.The author argues that the school should play its role in assisting family education. Moreover, the author advocates that the strategic research on assisting family education should be strengthened, with the participation of community and the setting of examples to create a new situation where the family education is in harmony with community development; with the guide of policy from government to create a new situation where the family education is in line with government policies. With the new trend of social development taken into consideration, this article is aimed at leading the family education of the only child of the new generation to a scientific and rational road.
