German dual-system vocational education refers to a vocational education model in which the education responsibility is taken together by the enterprises and the part-time vocational schools. Compared with school-based vocational education, dual-system vocational education pays more attention to the cultivation of practice skills, thus it is warmly welcomed by the enterprises and the apprentices. As an advanced vocational education pattern, dual-system vocational education has not only promoted the economic development of Germany and improved the vocational quality of the workers, but also gained a world-wide fame. Therefore,its successful experience is very worth of being widely spread.At its present stage of rapid economic development and industrial restructure, China needs urgently a large number of high-quality technical workers right at the forefront of production and service section. Vocational education plays an important role in the realization of China's industrial modernization, whose sound development has a great impact on not only the vocational quality of millions of workers but also the success of national economic development. However, due to its relatively late start, weak foundation, unsound management system, outdated educational ideas as well as inflexible mechanism, vocational education in China has ended up with a very slow development, which has therefore severely affected the pace of China's socialistic modernization. Therefore, it is urgent to explore a way for China's vocational education development with Chinese characteristics by combining Chinese present situation while learning from the successful experience of German dual-system vocational education.This thesis summarizes the development of German dual-system vocational education and the reasons of its increasing maturity, and also analyzes its procedure and main characteristics. Then, this thesis points out the existing problems and reformation measures of German dual-system vocational education. Finally, after summarizing the main problems existed in the vocational education in China and illustrating the feasibility to use the experience of the dual-system vocational education, this thesis attempts to propose some enlightenments of the dual-system vocational education on our country's vocational education, which is to strengthen the legal construction and improve the legal system of our vocational education; to deepen the reform of our vocational education management system; to ask more political and financial support from the government and encourage the participation of enterprises; and to change the ideas of vocational education.
