Along with social development and the deepening of reform and openness, the ideological and political education has undergone a exciting change progressively, and it also play an important role in higher education. But it is undeniable that, there are still sometimes ignoring, and even lack of respecting for individual values, and weakening principal status of students so that the pragmaticality of ideological and political education among college students is influenced at different degrees. Therefore, to enhance the pragmaticality of ideological and political education, it should be focused on individual value of students and play more emphasis on consummating its system of implementation."Client-centered theory" was founded by Carl Rogers, the famous American contemporary humanistic psychologist. The theory based on the believing that human beings have the potential of self-realization and the ability of understanding themselves which they can make a constructive change on life attitude and behavior. But this potential is only in establishing a rapport with client that it can be fully released and played. The importance of personal values, stressing on personal development and perfect personal concept implies the value of helping and educating people in ideological and political education nowadays. In a certain sense it met the demands of emphasizing on individual function in ideological and political education, so it brought a new inspiration to the ideological and political education.By sorting the positive view of human nature, self theory and the relationship between consultant and client which comes from Rogers's "Client-centered theory", this article elaborates the illumination of enhancing and improving ideological and political education which is brought by the main points of theory. First of all, ideological and political education workers should establish a concept of "active concerning" for students to fully believe that students have the potential of self-development. Secondly, we should help the students raise a positive self-concept to promote self perfection and development. Once more, we should build affective teacher-student relationship to create a harmonious environment for ideological and political education among college students. By drawing lessons from the attitude of "responsible for client ", we finally suggest ideological and political education that we should try to covert its pattern from text-oriented to human-oriented.
