Investigation And Study Of Basketball-coaching In Xiangcheng, Suzhou

With the development of society, basketball is increasingly concerned and very popular in school. Basketball training is also the means of quality education. Basketball-coaching in the schools will have effects on the students. It will help to build up the interests of the students and help to improve their skills. This is not only a part of extracurricular activities,also helps the basketball skill and the quality education in schools. I make a survey of the basic conditions, funds and equipment, sites,extra curricular activities of each schools in Xiangcheng,Suzhou and find the influencing factors of basketball-coaching in school, and summarize as follows:1. Basketball classes open in each schools, but proportion of the classes vary, there is relatively large gap. Basketball has relatively small proportion in all classes. Most students think that they have fewer basketball classes than they need. Basketball classes are carried out in original class. More students are in the same class than it should has.2. All schools have basketball teaching plan, while the plan is not well carried out. The instruction from the teachers is comparatively less. Time of basketball is not well ensured.3. Basketball training is not regular, no system. The team for the game is formed in short time, coaching level is low. Competition atmosphereis to be further enhanced.4. Gender and age structure is more reasonable. Professional Basketball teachers are relatively few, non-professional basketball teachers are doing most part.They have fewer opportunity of reeducation. They love basketball and are confident to the future of basketball sport in schools.5. Middle school students has high Enthusiasm in taking a part in basketball sport. Comparatively, they can under the balance between culture learning, physical and mental health and basketball sport. The aim of taking part in the sport meets middle school students' psychological needs. Poor skills, physical condition, heavy burden of learning, matriculation pressure affect the further development of basketball sport in middle schools.6. There is difference between schools in the useing of basketball expenses. Generally, the expense is much too less than needed. The basic teaching equipment meets their daily needs, but still a large gap between the national standard. Following suggestions are made to improve the situation: to formulate the unique teaching outline, to perfect the supervision; to increase the attention form the government, leaders of the school and teachers in charge of sports on basketball extracurricular activities; to improve the system of competition, and enhance the extracurricular activities; to build up the responsibility of teachers to make sure the classes are well performed; to build up the interest on basketball, build up a happy atmosphere; to add up the investment of basketball sport, achieve the maximum utilization of resources.
