On Adopting Red Resources In The Fostering Of College Students' National Spirit

Red resources, with abundant contents that incorporate both the excellent national spirit inherited from the ancient China and the spirit of the modern time, are the embodiment of a total new national spirit. It strengthens our national spirit with additional power and new contents, and they can serve a charming textbook as well as an innovation in fostering college students'national spirit with their objective concrete and sufficient resources.It is of great significance to adopt red resources in the fostering of college students'national spirit. Firstly, it enlarges the vehicles of education on the college students'national spirit; Secondly, it enriches the education methods; Thirdly, it promotes to joint all efforts to work on the college students'national spirit education; Fourthly, it can help the college students to understand the connotations of Chinese people's national spirit deeply; Fifthly, it also helps the college students to foster the Hard-working Spirit; Sixthly, it is helpful to foster the Spirit of seeking the truth from facts, as well as the Theory with practice Spirit; Seventhly, it also can help the college students to foster the Unity Spirit.The mainstream of the college students'national spirit is positive, however, there still exist some problems. Firstly, the students have a certain understanding of the connotations of national spirit, but not totally; Secondly, their collectivism spirit has been embodied, but the concept of collectivism has been weakening; Thirdly, they have been realizing the importance of integrity, but their behavior may betray what they say; Fourthly, they praise traditional culture highly, but they do not always pay much attention to it themselves in life; Fifthly, they believe that each person needs to struggle in life, but sometimes they lack the hard-working spirit in practice; Sixthly, they are curious about new things, and also desire to create something, but lack of the pragmatic spirit; Seventhly, they recognize the importance of unity, but not enough sometimes.In order to apply red resources to the cultivation of college students'national spirit, this article proposes effective methods. A guiding role should be played by the government, including establishing the concept of overall situation, intensifying support, setting up the red sites, guiding and encouraging to create more the red cultural works. Another practising role should be played by schools to seek new ways to be brought into, through from the Ideological and political theory curriculum, the Philosophy and Social Science curriculum, the campus culture, and the social practice.
