Under the guidance of teaching thought'Health First'and'lifelong physical training, accordingly Physical Education in Chinese university has reformed. Some newly developing educational contents have emerged, for example, yoga, healthy, both dynamic and elegant has been on the list of general course in university. To promote yoga education has not only helped to complete project structure of general course but the carriage of education for all-round development in universities. At present, the search of promotion of yoga in universities has just stayed in theoretical analysis, lack of complete and systematic research. Therefore, it's of great urgency to make research on the present situation of yoga education as general course in university physical education.In this paper, the author uses the method ofdocumentary, investigation to explore the present situation of yoga education as general course in physical education in universities of Wuhan city, Hubei province. Through the analysis of the content, methodology, test and evaluation methods of yoga education and research of problems presented and factors affecting smooth promotion of yoga education, the author has concluded as following:First, the popularizing rate of yoga education as general course in universities in Wuhan city is not quite high, which almost presents as optional class with few lessons. Moreover, the promotion of yoga education lack integrated revision of textbooks. In addition, although the main teaching contents can basically satisfy teaching needs and most students are content with teaching methodology, test and evaluation methods are quite single and not humanizingSecondly, the proportion of participation is unbalance, mostly girls. The students'recognition and initiative about yoga are various. They hope the composition of action should be simple, but if the frequency of practice can be not very high, they cannot keep the actions they learned in mind well. Further, the cases of suffering tremendous loss in strength in yoga education are not too many. Students hope that teachers can make good foundation of academic knowledge to initiate students'interest in class.Thirdly, yoga teachers in universities of Wuhan are mainly women teachers who haven't got high degree and not done quite well in scientific research. Moreover, they have few opportunities to training or advanced studies. in addition, the activities of exchange and learning among universities are few and some of them cannot provide a complete range of ground facilities to promote yoga education. The present factors affecting yoga education in Wuhan lie in the students' recognition to yoga, the teaching standard and value attention of teachers and lake of facilities in universities. |
