Abstract/Summary:
Chinese have a number of food safety incidents in these few years. The foreign media hype the new, it lead all countries set a lot of hurdles, including the tariff and non-tariff barriers to the Chinese food. It is influence the export in Chinese food. The demand of Chinese food in Hong Kong is annual growth. Ninety percentages of the import food is coming from China, so this article is discuss about the food quality and the regulatory issues in the Chinese food exported to Hong Kong, and compare the food safety regulation with Europe, United States and the other countries, and recommendation to the existing system of Chinese exports. There have three main problems of the Chinese food export to Hong Kong:first one is about the legislative, China should be establish a unified food labeling system and regulate the standard system. Second is about the law enforcement, the Customs administrations of China and Hong Kong should be strengthened cooperation, in curbing the smuggling of food, and to strengthen food sampling, to plug security holes. Last but not less, the communication between China and Hong Kong, the two also need to establish and improve food quality and safety incidents of communication and processing mechanism.
