Singapore is a small country with small size, small population and extreme lack of natural resources. But it is one of the most successful examples among many micro-countries in the world, which scored remarkable achievements in economy and society and showed the charm of a small country in multilateral diplomacy in the past several decades.Singapore's foreign policy towards major powers has two basis focuses which are national security and economic interests. Although it keeps changing and adjustments in different historical periods, its core content consists of the political "multilateral support" and economic "multilateral involvement" by the great powers in and out of the region, which continuously safeguard Singapore's security, stability and prosperity. Singapore is not only active to keep a friendly relationship with its neighboring countries and ASEAN members in Southeast Asia, but also eager and active to pursue Britain, the United States, Japan, China, Soviet Union, India and other great powers'presence in the region. Through its full range of bilateral and multilateral diplomatic maneuvers, Singapore's great power balancing diplomacy reaches its zenith.The paper is divided into there parts. The first part is the introduction of research topic, literature review and the methodology. The second part includes four chapters, which analyzes Singapore's diplomacy of great power balancing:its origin, content, process and characteristics. The last part sums up the author's views and conclusion.
