The history of Sino-Africa relationship is not only glorious for the last fifteen years but also has a brilliant future. China is the largest developing country in the world and Africa is the mainland which has a great number of developing countries. China and Africa have established and developed a long-term stable and comprehensive relationship within the framework of South-South cooperation, which does not only concern China and Africa economic and political interests, but also concern our contributions to the peace and development of the world as the largest developing country. This relationship is an important manifestation of China for carrying out its international responsibilities. This paper firstly reviews Sino-Africa relationship during the eras of Mao Zedong, Deng Xiaoping and Jiang Zemin. From the 1950s to the 1970s, Sino-Africa relationship began and the first generation of leaders in China cooperated with leaders of newly liberated African countries very well and laid a solid foundation for traditional Sino-Africa relationship. From the 1970s to the late 1980s, the bilateral relationship was adjusted and therefore diplomacy shifted its emphasis from political interests to economic factors. In the 1990s, Sino-Africa relationship played a more significant role and political and economic interests were both highly valued. After the inauguration of President Hu Jintao in 2002, China government promulgated a series of policies declaring the new diplomatic thought and adjustment and thus more visits to African countries were paying by Chinese leaders and more communications were made.Through the combination of researches on history and actualities, this paper compares policies implemented by Hu Jintao and former Presidents of the first three generations and probes into the new diplomatic thoughts of the new government of China, so new features of the present Sino-Africa relationship are discovered. In the light of the development features of China and African countries as well as the policies of western countries toward African countries, the trend and significance of Sino-Africa relationship is defined.
