A Study Of League Membership Awareness Education For College Students

The exertion of Youth League Organizing function and the expression of its advanced nature are all reflected through its members' behavior, so the League membership awareness education for youth league members is a fundamental job for the building of the Communist Youth League organizations. At present, league members in colleges and universities, with the highest proportion of league members and the youth, account for more than 90 percent of the total students. Such a status make many league members easily ignore their identity; and there are also weakness in the League organizational building in some universities. This causes a problem that university students have no strong sense of belonging and lackness of group cohesion. Through depth interviews with 16 students (including League leaders), the paper finds out the current status and problems of League membership awareness and the impact factors of League membership awareness. The study believes that the point of the education of League member awareness is at first clearly understanding of the role that college organizations play; followed by establishment of the system of education; finally the combination of theoretical education and practical education.While the difficulty lies in the changing of educational ideas,the innovation of educational mode, the strengthen of educational effect. On this basis, the author comes to the following exploratory conclusions: first, League members of university students do not completely reject League member awareness education; second, the extent of League member awareness is derictly proportional with the exteral stimulation; third, the extent of League member awareness is relative with the pursuit of political goals; fourth, the situation of League member awareness is colsely related to the Youth League development of universities and colleges. Therefor, the Youth League organizations in colleges should follow the disciplinarian of university students' physical and mental development, adhere to "people-oriented"; improve the construction of Youth League organizations; raise the aim and actual effect of the education of League member awareness; build long-term mechanism; drive members'sense of belonging up.
