Citizens' Political Participation And The Construction Of China Democracy

Political participation is at the very core of democracy. It reflects which position and function the citizens occupy in social political life. In the west, political scholars pay much attention to the subject of citizens' political participation in which they have formed fairly systematic theoretical achievements. However, scholars in China do researches in political participation later than abroad and their researches are in single perspective. With Chinese reform and opening and the high-speed development of politics and economy, great changes have taken place in social stratum especially during the past thirty years. People from various strata in society have formed different groups for their own interests. This exists different interest values in political and culture. In such particular case, citizens show high enthusiasm on political participation and take on all kinds of features in order to defend their rights and interests. These changes have put forward new demands for the construction of democracy. Under this background, we should make further reforms on the system of political participation, broaden participation channels and enhance participation standards. First of all, we should make further analyses to those deeply rooted problems on current political participation in China. Then we will find out some ways to deal with these problems. But it is well known that Chinese political participation is at the lower level and in the narrower field. It is hard to meet the demand. Therefore the paper tries to use investigation means to expand the political participation, especially its system and channel.It is the theoretically analytical platform in which the author points out political participation is not only the objective of construction of democracy, but also the accelerator by analyzing the essence, the function and the meaning of political participation. The author also discusses that political participation has an important role in the democratization of political decision-making and realizes civil and political rights and social stability. On the basis of these studies, this paper approaches that political participation is an important indicator of the building of democratic politics. First the author reviews the process of Chinese political participation before and after Chinese reform and opening. Then the author observes the current condition and features of Chinese political participation by analyzing the main, the content and the manner of political participation. Chinese reform and opening has caused interests split up and restructure. This leads to changes in political participation that is aimed at pursuing and maintaining interests. This paper uses investigation approach on the basis of analyzing some chart dates. The author makes further analyses about those deeply rooted problems on current political participation in china, the low level of political participation, the non-balanced development of Political participation, and the non-sound mechanism etc., especially analyzes its deep causes from the political system of underdeveloped economy and the negative aspects of tradition political. By combining with the reality of development in politics, economy and culture, the author puts forward some measures to optimize the environment of political participation and promoting standards of political participation. This paper takes some measures from microcosmic perspective of studies to political construction pushed smoothly, promotes the quality of citizens and expands channels of political participation in which they have formed fairly systematic theoretical achievements.The author attempts to emphasize the value of political participation based on the traditional political participation theory by discussing the following points: What are the conditions of the intensity of parameters under the leadership of CPC?
