Research On The Development Of Cyber Democracy In Contemporary China

As a kind of newly developed means of technique and communication, whether Internet can be used properly will determine its impact on the development of democracy in china. Internet technology, a double-edged sword, has both positive and negative impact on its development.Internet provides us with not only advanced technical means, operating platforms and a bright future, but also new challenges and difficulties in developing democracy in china. Therefore, it has been a tough task for us to employ it properly.The paper includes four parts. Part one explores the connotations and the implications of Cyber Democracy from the perspective of political theories. Part two demonstrates the significance of developing Cyber Democracy from the aspects of civil political participation , democratic supervision, and power structure and some on. Part three fully analyses the current situation of the development of Cyber Democracy in contemporary China. In view of the experience of western countries as well as our national conditions, part four puts forwards strategies to develop the Cyber Democracy better.At present, large amount of papers and documents are on the research of this topic, most of which focus on the relationship between the Internet and democracy. However, there is little research on the limitation of the Cyber Democracy, the challenges in developing process, especially the countermeasures which need full study and deserve extra attention. The paper hopes that it may shed some light on its countermeasures.
