On Improvement Of China's Legal Aid System

The legal aid system is an important component part of the modern countries' legal systems, and of the procedural legal system in particular. As a human rights guarantee system, it has been established in the laws of many countries, even in the constitution or constitutional documents. Our country has carried out legal aid work for over 10 years, and has achieved remarkable achievements in various aspects. But lots of deficiencies still exist in the work practice, which have to be improved and perfected speedily.Through using for reference western countries' legal regulations regarding legal aid and the research of legal aid done by domestic experts and scholars, this thesis has conducted a systematic and penetrating exploration of the definition, characteristics, development course and value of the legal aid system, and on this basis, in combination with the investigation and research of the current situation of the legal aid work conducted in the judicial administration practice the author has engaged in, it analyzes the deficiencies and their causes of our country's legal aid system which exist during the course of its establishment and development, and puts forwards a few suggestions for improving our country's legal aid system.
