On The Development Of Ancient Military Athletics In China From Such A Point Of View As The Evolution Of Chinese Cold Weapons

In process of the development and evolution of the ancient athletics in China ,the contents and the position of military athletics are of great important. However ,it is really regretful for lack of consensus about the development of ancient military athletics in sports circle over a long period of time. In recent years ,more and more people have realized the importance of ancient military athletics because they paid much attention to the study of ancient and contemporary military athletics. This paper attempts to probe the development of ancient military athletics in China by means of analyzing the influence of the evolution of weapons on military athletics.Multi-methods are applied in this research. They are literature method, case study method, and empirical method. The thesis is composed of four parts ,as follows:The first part is the preface. Firstly, it elaborates the origin and significance of this paper. Secondly, it presents the definition of"cold weapon"and"military athletics". Finally, it discusses the relationship among weapons, military and military athletics.The second part comes to the outline evolution of ancient cold weapons in China. First of all, it gives the classification of cold weapons from different points of view. The most common one is that cold weapon can be divided into stone weapon, bronze weapon and iron weapon. Second, based of the time, there are three stages during the evolution of weapons, namely, Stone Weapon Age; Bronze Weapon Age; Iron Weapon Age. Finally, it briefs the evolution of weapons in these three stages.The third part mainly studies the evolution of cold weapon and the development of military athletics. First of all, it analyzes the characteristics of the evolution of cold weapon. The gradually improving production becomes the precondition of the evolution of cold weapons whereas the occurring of war is its motive power. For the demand of war, people designed a variety of cold weapons which were of higher quality and greater power. Furthermore it was easier to operate them. Secondly, it discusses the influence of the evolution of cold weapons on the development of military athletics. The main points are as follows: Enriching the contents of military athletics; promoting the effectiveness of training in strength, intelligence and integrated quality. Finally, it analyzes the integrated influence of this peculiarity on the development of military athletics. What's more, its influence impulses the evolution and development of ancient military athletics. The advancement is reflected in these four aspects:â‘ The quality of military athletics instruction has been promoted gradually.â‘¡The examination system in schools has been improved.â‘¢The methods of training and assessing soldiers in the army has tended to systematization.â‘£The system of selecting soldiers has become more standard.The fourth part is the conclusion. It summarizes the evolution of Chinese cold weapons and the development of ancient military athletics. To train how to use weapons is the key of military training. Such kind of training is a vital part of military athletics. Scanning the history of the development of ancient military athletics in China, military athletics is developing gradually as the evolution of cold weapons.
