| The characteristics of the engineering students of Chinese People's Armed Police Forces (CPAPF) are different from that of the students in the military college and the students in common universities. It is very important for the CPAPF engineering students' personality development to find out their mental health level, to analysis the main influential factors of their mental health, and to put forward constructive suggestions. It has theoretical and realistic significance in promoting mental health education and college management level.AIMIn this investigation, the mental health state and personality characteristics were measured, and the results were compared with the Chinese cadet and common undergraduate norm. The mental health state and the personality characteristics were studied, and the correlation between them was found out. This study was done to provide theoretical evidence for the management and cultivation of the engineering students of the CPAPF.PROCEDURES AND METHODS1.The engineering students of 17 teams were taken out randomly from 62 teams of an engineering college of CPAPF to finish the population data questionnaires.
