John Rawls's theory of justice has its own feature, which makes profound comments on a lot of fields. All the questions explored in his theory are true, urgent and important. The purpose of this thesis is that through a survey of the two principles of justice as the core of John Rawls's theory of justice, we draw a sketch of the framework of John Rawls's theory of justice. With the practice of building the harmonious society, I want to analyze what theory resource the two principles of justice can give us.The first part is about the advance and a new argumentation of the two principles of justice. In the book A Theory of Justice, John Rawls puts forward the two principles of justice and explains their contents and meanings. After A Theory of Justice is published, it produced a great influence in the world.Meantime, it has been challenged by other theories. So John Rawls has to rethink his theory. In the book Political Liberalism and Justice as Fairness——A Restatement, John Rawls gives a new argumentation of the two principles of justice. It mainly embodies that John Rawls demonstrates his conception of justice as political conception of justice. Political conception of justice has three features: firstly, its theme is the basic structure of society; secondly, it is the essential part of the constitutional democratic society; thirdly, its content is expressed in the basic idea of a democratic society's public political culture. Its main idea is the idea of well-ordered society and the idea of free and equal citizens.The second part is about how the two principles of justice been put forward and whether they are practicable. John Rawls is convinced that"justice as fairness"is the most proper conception of justice. The two principles of justice as its core are the best principles of justice which are applied to the basic structure of society.
