| The globalization of economy and the internationalization of competition are the striking characteristics of the development of today's world economy. The leading force which pushes forward the globalization of economy is the transnational corporation, which is the main body of a country's participation in the international competition. Since 1980s, as a new model of corporation collaboration, supply chain strategic alliance has become an effective way for the transnational corporation to hence the international competence and exploit the international market, and also a necessary choice of the global development. Its upsurge is influencing and even changing the international competitive surroundings, the organizational structures and operation of corporations. And after entry into WTO, Chinese corporations will join global surroundings from the whole orientations and high levels. Supply chain strategic alliance of the transnational corporation will also become a new access to the world for our corporations. This paper studies with the emphasis on the emergence, essence, establishment and operation of the strategic alliance. Meanwhile, combined with present internationalization of Chinese corporations, some countermeasures are made.On the basis of introducing and appraising relevant references, this paper interprets the theoretical bases referring to theories of international production, global value chain, core competence and global learning effect. The core of this paper emphasizes on several problems: (1) the considered factors on the decision-making of transnational corporations; (2) the selection of the alliance partners and structure; (3) the control of risks on the alliance operation; and (4) the evaluation of the alliance performance. Finally, this paper puts forward the countermeasures and suggestions on how to join the system of supply chain alliance of the transnational corporation and make up our globalization network.
