The development of information technology and Internet make electronic business very important, electronic business is the integration of electronic information, finishing the business activities and moderating the process through electronic means to increase efficiency and convenience. Electronic business is a new business platform, which makes the traditional business mode vary enormously; and the study of it has become the hot problem in the Network ages. Business model is a management operation mechanism of the product flow, fund flow, information flow and the process of value creating; it can describe the appearance and function, the benefits and income source, the potential value of different parts. It can also reflect the value creating process in the value chain of enterprises. Business model is the performance form of electronic business, which reflect the appearance and development regulation of electronic business directly and concretely. Through the study of business models, we can summarize the regulation of the value creating in electronic business, which is also the core of EC's existence and development. So, the study of business models is an important angle and direction for enterprises to realize the regulation of electronics market. Michael E. Porter proposes the theory of value chain in 1985, in his book, Competitive Advantages. He pointed out that value chain is constituted with different and contacted value activities, such as the design, produce, and marketing of products. The value chain is the combination of particular professional activities. Enterprises can win the competitive advantages through analyzing the activities and the connection between them. With the application and development of electronic business, the value chains of enterprises have varied enormously in the new business models; the theory of value chain also evolves with electronic business, the conversion form the traditional value chain to virtual value chain is the reflection of information's value creating, the consequence of EC's development and the request of information age. The core of e-commerce business models is value creating, and the study purpose of the value chain theory is to find out the value creating segments and win the competitive advantages of the enterprises.
