| The Global 500 which represent international capacity of competition, embody the contemporary economic feature and decide the development of world economy. The headquarters as the central part of the company formulate corporate strategy and control its global development. With the development of economic globalization and information technology, process base separates from the corporate headquarters. Today, the spatial choice and agglomeration of the Global 500 headquarters relate the regional competitive advantage and have an important effect on improving industrial structure of the city.The article begins with the Global 500 and tries to establish an analytic frame about the relation between national power and company with an eye on the spatial distribution. The dissertation attempts to affirm the general relation between economic growth and structural change according to a series of data promulgated by Fortune from 1995 to 2004, regards the nation as an analytical unit to research industrial structural change of one nation, inspects the general standard and trend of economic development by the comparative research between nations and reveals the relation between the headquarters' industrial structure of the Global 500 and the predominant industry of the city.This article comprises five chapters, of which the third and fourth sections are the bodies of the dissertation. In the first section, the background of the choice of the topic is expatiated and some interrelated conceptions are defined. And the status quo of the researches at home and abroad is discussed. The second chapter, the general characteristics of the Global 500 and global distributing feature are analyzed. In the third chapter, on the base of many researches, the industrial structural changing laws of the Global 500 are summed up. The fourth chapter, the spatial feature of the headquarters' distribution of the Global 500 is summarized and a general mode of headquarters' remove of the Global 500 is composed. The fifth chapter is the section for case analysis. Then a comprehensive analysis is done. The development of Shanghai headquarters' economy is mentioned in which the main advantages are analyzed and some countermeasures to its further development are suggested . |
