| Our country is the large agricultural country where farmers take thegreat majority. The issues concerning farmers especially those of farmers'status have a great impact on the revolution and construction of our country.In order to realize modernization, New China had solidified farmers'statusfor a long time, which had caused a series of social concerns. This papertries to analyze farmers'status and its transformation from politicalangle. In the part of the introduction, it has not only defined the conceptof farmers' status and its transformation, but also introduced the relevantpolitical science analysis to it of some scholars, as well as the researchapproach and the basic frame of this thesis. In the first part of this text,besides analyzing the course of farmers'status and its transformation interms of relationship between state and farmers, it has summarized the basiccharacteristic of this transformation process too. From the deeper angle,the second part of text has explained why Chinese farmers have met so manydifficult and arduous conditions during the process of the statustransformation. This part is analyzed from two aspects mainly: in termsof rural organization's transformation and modernization. In the third partof text, it has analyzed the political influence by the contemporaryfarmers'status transformation in terms of political development, whichconcerns political participation, political institutionalization,political stability and political culture, etc. The conclusion of this textis: the process of political development of China will depend upon farmersto transform smoothly from traditional social status to a new one requiredby modernization. |
