On The Ideological And Political Education Function Of Youth Voluntary Action In Colleges And Universities

Youth Voluntary Action is an important approach to carry out the college students'ideological and political education in the new era. Based on the current situation of Youth Voluntary Action, this paper is intended to probe into the educational function as well as the restricting factors and carry on research on how to explore this function as a resource to promote the ideological and political education effectively. With the 2010 Shanghai EXPO Voluntary work as example, this paper tries to propose the college youth volunteers'action trend and certain construction strategy which realizes the educational function of this youth volunteers'action, so as to provide references and advices on how to carry out the job more efficiently.This paper has six parts. The introduction part covers the research background, purpose, significance, research thoughts and approaches. This part also offers a detailed literature review of the basic situation of Chinese Youth Voluntary Action and researches on its ideological and political educational function. The first chapter defines some basic concepts and summarizes the situation of Chinese Youth Voluntary Action from the aspect of development, classification and characteristics. With a reference to the Youth Voluntary Action abroad, this part offers a better understanding of Chinese Youth Voluntary Action. Chapters 2,3,4,5 are the key chapters of this paper. The second chapter discusses the educational function of Youth Voluntary Action, namely value orientation, internalization and self-realization functions. The third chapter induces several factors that restrict the educational function such as mobilization pattern, law protection financial support and micro-self field. The fourth chapter proposes the trend about the socialized mobilization pattern, the intermediary function of educators and changes of registered volunteers'pattern with the 2010 Shanghai EXPO voluntary work as an example. The fifth chapter is the conclusion part, which offers fundamental principles and specific strategies on the realization of ideological and political education of Youth Voluntary Action.Based on the instance analysis of 2010 Shanghai EXPO volunteer work and the verification of the theoretical hypothesis, this paper draws conclusions that there are four principles in realizing the ideological and political education: conformity of globalization and localization, conformity of majority and diversity, conformity of subjectivity and socialization, conformity of egoism and altruism; there are three strategies in realizing the ideological and political education: 1) well-handling with the interrelationship between the youth voluntary action and Communist Youth League organization with the localization developing strategy to promote the ideological and political educational function of youth voluntary action by promoting the mode of"registered"volunteer in the Party and League level; 2) insist on the"win-win"idea and specialization developing strategy can be applied to emphasis the combination of voluntary service and students'ability-cultivation and thus realizing the ideological and political education; 3) reclaiming the target and obligation of education as well as the"day-to-day"developing strategy can be applied to promote college students'all-round developments by their personal involvement and practice in the youth voluntary action with an emphasis on the law protection and cultural guidance to realize the ideological and political education....
