Separatism seriously threats the integrity of national sovereignty and territory. It violates International law and procedure, impedes national and regional stability. As a direct threat to the core interest of a country, none of the government will tolerate separatism. Defending separatism is a major responsibility of a state and its government. The war between Greece and Turkey in 1970s gave birth to the independence of Northern Cyprus. Yugoslavia and NATO war in 1990s led to Kosovo's independence. In the new century, the conflict between Russia and Georgia in Abkhazia and South Ossetia made them declare independence. In the observation of these four entities, they have a settled population, marked borders, effective government, but lack of external behaviors due to unrecognition. We define such area as "unrecognized non-state actors ".These actors have a vague position in the international community. Lacking of international recognition, they can not sign inter-state treaties. Due to their instable internal situations, it is hard for them to attract investment. They had become the haven of criminal behaviors. Separation did not offer local people a promised future. The research can offer us a theoretical background to support our anti-separatism activities. The methods of the research:Literature Analysis, Comparative Analysis, Case studies, Interdisciplinary studiesWithin International law, recognition is one of the most difficult problems. States focus more on the political considerations rather than legal justifications in dealing with recognition problems. In addition to national recognition, there is collective recognition. Joining the United Nations has become the goal of many unrecognized non-state actors. All of the four regions have serious ethnic conflicts. The intensification of ethnic conflicts and the intervention of external forces contribute to their self-declared independences. The right of national self-determination does not represent the encouragement of minorities'separatist activities. These four unrecognized non-state actors have a significant influence on international relations. Their independence sets a really bad precedent for other separatist forces. It has stimulated and encouraged their activities. They are plagued with rampant crime. Meanwhile, their appearances have expanded the gap between EU countries and deteriorated US and European relationship with Russia. They have also become obstacles in acquiring EU membership of their mother-states. Separation is not the best way to deal with ethnic problems.
