Understanding mental health help-seeking intentions is fundamental to theimprovement of police mental health. Despite considerable research on these variables, integrating prior research has been impeded; Understanding the relationship betweenthe attitude of police to the mental illness and the intention to seek professionalpsychological help will provide a theoretical and practice reference for the mental healthservices for the police. This study commenced along the two ideas: the first one, the police intention toseek professional psychological services, the second one is about police stigma ofmental illness, in particular, the impact of stigma on intention to seek professionalpsychological services. The former focuses on the circumstances under the expectedplaned behavior brought by intention to seek professional psychological services. The implicit measures show continued bias against mental diseasesand mental health help-seeking among policemen. Research on these two paths drawsthe following conclusions:(1) The police intention to seek professional psychological help questionnaireincludes 20 questions, divided into five dimensions, involving the career, family lifestress events and policing emergency these three aspects.(2) The police with different gender, type, and occupational time show distinctsignificance of their intention to seek professional psychological help. (3) Implicit association test and the stereotype explanation measure the effects ofstigma associated with mental health care among police on their intentions to seekprofessional mental health care.(4) The research showed that the stigma of mental illness predict the intention toseek psychological help as well as a negative impact.
