According to estimate of the United Nation Development PROGRAM (UNDP), the world travel and tourism industry will exceed IT industry and automobile manufacturing industry in 2020,and will become the biggest industry in the world. According to World Tourism Organization, China will become the biggest travel destination nation and the fourth tourism source courtry in the world in 2020.Sichuan province has abundant tourism resource, very long history, various and versatile nation minority culture which are special competition advantages of Sichuan. The government of Sichuan province decided to make the travel and tourism industry to be one of the pillar industry in Sichuan. Although the travel and tourism industry developed very quickly in recent years, there are a lot of problems in this. China entry into WTO will cause huge changes in travel and tourism industry. Therefore, it is necessary to do an investigation to find problems in marketing and to improve them.Chapter one is a brief introduction of tourism and tourism industry and the state of tourism in national economy. Then, a brief introduction of problems of Sichuan tourim. Chapter two is investigating to the resources condition of Sichuan tourism, investigation to the condition of Sichuan tourism market and problems of tourism marketing. Chapter Three analyse tourism product and the way to make tourism product life cycle longer and the ways of developing the tourism products of SichuanChapter four beginning with the current state of Sichuan tourism, Sichuan tourism has to pay more attention to the building of tourism brand to promt Sichuan tourism. Chapter five According the Sichuan tourism character green marketing is suggested. Chapter six to strengthen Sichuan tourism publicity, INTERNET is suggested.
