This article represented competency model, a way of evaluation. Through behaviors, a competency model represents knowledge, abilities, characters and skills, which are needed for people to accomplish their works. And by the description of behaviors at different levels, it brought forward the composition of people's core abilities and their proficiencies.This article explains the relationship between a single and his work, on the bases of characters and abilities. it gives a way of separating behaviors into parts and explained why the differences of performance exit. The objection of the research is to help peoples to perform better, to program their careers, and finally to make their goals come true.Competency model has been broadly applied overseas. Lots of large companies have combined competency model with HR, Performance checking, training and career programming, the results are great. It is definitely a innovation to the field of HR management.From the angle of management psychology, this article analyzed which kind of behavior leads to high performance. Then, this article fully analyzed and described the process of building a competence model. Then, it gives the way of how to use competence models in HR management.This article is an innovation on HR management, which represents a new method on how to make people and his work match perfectly. It has important theoretical meanings.
