| From the macroscopic perspective, job search is employment that the prosperity of the nation attaches to, while from the microscopic perspective, it matters for one's fate. For this reason, it is the focus of the researcher interests lies in. Finding job through the network, however, remains the cognitive of common sense. Human capital theory play a overwhelm role in the theoretical research. Intuition tells us that, individual's network really works while the theories still sparsely in the empirical study, and an integrated system is expected to be developed. Fortunately, the booming theories of individual social capital offer the robust analysis tool suit, and help us draw the reason free form passion.This paper draw a literature review on the social capital and job search theory, expose the current progress and characteristics from the theoretical perspective, as well as the evolution of the employment policy of our nation. On this basis, integrated the concept and theories of the individual social capital and job search theory, and develop a mechanism model of the individual social capital on the job search which include the source, benefit of the individual social capital and the outcome the job searching, and the contingency factors of the integrated model. Five hypothesizes lies in this model: combined with the human capital, individual social capital effect the outcome the job searching, individual social capital as the structural holes of the networks correlation with the outcome of the job searching, individual social capital as the weak ties of the networks correlation with the outcome of the job searching, individual social capital as the social resources of the networks correlation with the outcome of the job searching and individual social capital mediated by the mediator of culture and sex on the outcome of the job searching. The following of the paper develop for these five hypothesis, discuss the endogenous of the individual social capital in the job search theory, and the effect of the individual social capital derive from the structural holes, weak ties and social resources on the job search. At the end, analysis the conclusion of the empirical study with the mediator of cultural and sex as the contingency factors.As abstained by the empirical study, limited by the errors of sample, measures and objective, especially for the rather new concept, one empirical cannot tell thecontradiction and conflict of one another by its own respectively, the literature review and analysis is the only way to master the real connection beneath the facts and develop the logic ways. So it is helpful to the further study on ways and subjections of research of the individual social capital to the job search. This paper also is a guideline for the job seeker to invest his/her individual social capital purposely and attain the job search success. |
