GIS-based Analysis On Land-Use Change In HaiLun City

Based on land-use diagram of three periods (1986, 1996 and 2000) interpreted by Landsat TM image and data of social economy for the recent twenty years of Hailun city, Heilongjiang province, the change of land-use direction, amplitude, rate and spatial distribution characteristics were analyzed by overlay-analysis function of GIS. Landscape types and the evaluation index of spatial pattern were analyzed in the areas. Based on Markov models of transition probability, the land-use change of Hailun city was forecasted and analyzed in the following fourteen years. Also, evaluation and planning of landscape ecology were conducted for Hailun city. Conclusions:(1) Change of land-use varied greatly from 1986 to 2000 in Hailun city. Glebe, paddy field, town land and residential area increased, but woodland, grassland and marsh decreased. Lakes, reservoir-pond, bottomland, and bare land were slightly changed.(2) For transition direction of land-use, it was found that land-use type were mostly happened among the woodland, grassland, marsh and farmland. The farmland area changed from woodland, grassland, and marsh were 5691. 226hm2 3913. 991 hm21649. 866hm2, respectively. Transitions also took placed inside farmland and woodland: 479. 075hm2 of plain glebe changed into paddy field, 142.659hm2 of forest land change into scatter woodland, and 0. 014hm2 of forest land changed into shrub.(3 ) Based on changing rates of different type of field that were calculated from transition matrix, it was found that changing rates of shrub land and high-overlay grassland were the highest and farmland was the lowest. Newly increasing rates for upland glebe and scatter woodland were most highest, paddy field and town land also increased greatly.(4) In the recent fourteen years, characteristics of spatial distribution about land-use change for Hailun city suggested that area of farmland increased constantly and lots of woodland and grassland were occupied. Additionally, farmland and marsh changed in different spatial location. The highest value of changing rate was woodland transition to farmland, followed by the grassland to farmland. The former type mostly distribute in interlace area of marsh and woodland, which is discrete distribution in the plain area, and the later type distribute in the edge of marsh and the nearby residential zone in the country.(5) Plain glebe, marsh and forest land are the three main landscape types. Patch shapes of Plain glebe, marsh, town land and forest land were very complex, and these Landscape connect well and fragmentation level was lower. Artificial and semi-artificial Landscape, such as residential zone in the country, lakes etc, always have simple patch shape and connections are not well. These Landscape were greatly disturbed by human jamming, so they have higher level of fragmentation.(6) Landscape pattern of Hailun has been changed. Diversity and evenness of Landscape were decreased constantly and dominance index was increased slightly. It suggested that diversity of Landscape has been decreased constantly and structure of Landscape seems to be single or several Landscape types for Hailun city in recent fourteen years. Generally, fragmentation decreased, but with a lower rate. Landscapepattern seems to be in the course from destruction to recovery.( 7) Landscape of Hailun city was evaluated and planned. As results. Landscape ecology system in the year 1986 was the best, followed by the year 2000 and then the year 1996. Base on the above analysis, it is suggested that Landscape structure of Hailun city need to be rationally planned and the reclamation of woodland and grassland need to be controlled adequately.
