Drug criminality has become an increasingly thorny global issue, against which each country has been fighting a hard and enduring struggle. By way of analyzing the history of status quo of drug criminality, the thesis not only probes the cause of this issue but also classifies the legislative system concerning it. A series of comprehensive preventive measures, with regard to the perfection of the legal system about drug criminality, is also put forward.Section I defines drug and drug criminality. It briefly narrates several definitions about drug and drug criminality proposed by some scholars. After pointing out the drawbacks of these definitions, it put forward its own definition, in which the characteristics of drug criminality is also well illustrated.Section II deals with the history and status quo of drug criminality, it briefly narrates the status quo of global drug criminality as well as the history and status quo of drug criminality in China and the relevant legislation at various periods of time. Section III deals with the cause of drug criminality, it probes drug criminality form a historical as well as realistic point of view, on the basis of which a conclusion is wade that it is the drive for economic and the drug addiction-prone which make drug criminality so prevalent.Section IV deals with the classification of drug criminality. Based on the cause of drug criminality and the relevant legislative system, it classifies drug criminality into four types:(1) illegal drug production(2) illegal drug trade(3) illegal drug consumption(4) other crimes related to drug criminalitySection V puts forward some suggestions and measures about how to be on guard against and treat drug criminality in a comprehensive way.
