A Historical Investigation On The Style Of Governance Of Chinese Communist Party

The style of governance of political party is an important factor affecting the ability and position of the party in power. The Chinese Communist Party has turned into a party which masters political power and has been in power over a long period of time from a party who leads the people struggling for political power of the whole nation. It has advanced backwards and forwards for more than 50 years in exploring the style of governance, and it has acquired preliminary achievements, but great efforts are still required. The thesis, in order to provide references for its reform, attempts to give the style of governance of Chinese Communist Party a historical investigation and sum up the experiences and lessons from the point of view of laws on governance.The thesis falls into four parts. The first part points out the definition, main content and basic types of the style of governance of political party on the ground of general analysis to political party in power. The second part describes the evolvement locus of the Party's style of governance, and deeply analyzes the essential distinctions, causes and effects of the three kinds of style: the style of "being commanded directly by the Party", "being replaced by the Party" and "being guided by the Party". The third part is the historical reflection on the Party's style of governance, the four aspects derived from the reflection which are not only the basic experiences but also the necessary conditions for reform. That is, developing market economy, strengthening Party building, strengthening political mechanism construction and persisting in exercising state power according to law. The last part briefly summarizes the thesis, and reveals that Party building and modernization of economy mode are the two motive forces to the reform and innovation of the Party's style of governance.
