Nowadays, not all the enterprises can react to the changes from the environment, but the number of the companies who can rapidly react to the changes is less than anybody imagine. Because they never care about their business in the strategic mind and ways.Chengdu Timber Factory(hereinafter referred as CTF),a stated-owned company, it has been ever confronted by the limiting to its resources, sharply going down on the producing and bad situation of the firm. But thanks for its own strategic mind, it got rid of the bat situation. If considering the fact that the marketing-economy system hadn't been established, no one can not admit that it indeed has the insight and adaptive ness to the market. And these abilities can be owned by those companies who have the strategic thoughts and have obeyed firmly them.During the time full of changes, CTF again faces the drastic challenge. The thesis tries to demonstrate the general logics and process and roads of strategic management, according to the research on the CTF's new development strategy so as to make some dedicate to the implements of strategy.The thesis has five parts. The first part is about the general statement on strategic theory. In this part, we will explain two fundamentals: strategy andstrategic management. In the second part, we will narrate the first strategic adjustment in the CTF in order to clarify the target of the undergoing strategy. At the same time, we will relate the results of this adjustment to let many people know the advantages of implementing the strategy. The rest parts will focus on the process of strategic management, and we will analyze the common ways to have a strategy and make it good. Last, from the perspective of the eternal operation of the enterprise, it points out that adjustment to constant innovation is dispensable if it wants to create competitive edges and keep sustainable development. Only in this way can the enterprise grasp chances and win initiatives among competitions.CTF is a typical state-owned enterprise which has many similarities to many other state-owned enterprises both internally and externally. The study of its strategies will enlighten us to settle the problems of how to compete with other state-owned enterprises, adapt to changes and achieve developments.
