An Analysis Of Online Auction And Discussion About Operation Management

Like traditional auction, online auction also adopt public bidding to determine allocation and price of resources. While some differences exist between online auction and traditional auction due to different environment of specific auction activities, and these differences bring some problems. On the basis of realization of these differences and problems, online auction websites should concentrate their resources and reinforce the operation management of online auction in three aspects: customers, auction items and auction process.This dissertation consists of four chapters.In the first chapter, the dissertation briefly introduces the definition, function and ingredients of auction, reviews the beginning, progress and mode of auction, and briefly explains the impact of E-commerce and China entering into WTO on the auction industry.In the second chapter, the dissertation expatiates the beginning and basic process of online auction, comparatively analyzes the similarities and differences of online auction and traditional auction in how to conduct auction activities, and expatiates existing problems on online auctions in our country.In the third chapter, the dissertation induces the operations priorities of online auction websites from general operations priorities, and explains the operation of online auction from threeaspects: customer management, auction items management and auction process management.The forth chapter of the dissertation is a case study. After briefly introducing the background of "China Auction Net" , the dissertation briefly analyzes the specific implementation of customer management, auction items management and auction process management in "China Auction Net" , and analyzes the profitability of the website.
