Research On The Color Of Banter In Su Shi's Works

Song Dynasty's Su Shi has such image in posterity's writing:"Dong Po is good at joking," "Dong Po is funny", "Zi Zhan talks with banter ".Many anecdote records of Su Shi written by all previous dynasties'writers also confirmed his sense of humor that dissolved in his blood. And this kind of humor passes through all his life's literary and artistic creation, which causes its work to present one kind of color that melts intellect with humor. This banter color not only includes a kind of relaxed atmosphere presented by writing tricks, but also accommodates a kind of wisdom and intellect conveyed by purposeful sense of humor. This article focuses on this banter color in Su Shi's creation, on the basis of the definition of its connotation, combining with Su Shi's own creation, explaining the characteristic of this banter color from the content, the form as well as the style. And it analysizes its level using the German literary theoretician Rips's humorous category theory, then arranges the forming reason of this banter color from exterior social history, internal aspects such as disposition and life experiences as well as Su Shi's philosophic thinking etc. The banter color of Su Shi's work is inseparable from its literary esthetics view point. We explain this banter color by combing Su Shi's own creation with the style, and finally sort out the foundation significance of this banter color and its influence to the later generation literature school as well as the specific writer.
