The topic from the research project of "teaching method" and "English linguistics; cognitive skills and practice" is selected under the guidance of the Professor Yin Demo. "Cognition-Knowledge Bilingual Double Structures" theory was firstly proposed by Professor Yin Demo which mainly involves the correlations between language and thinking structure, cognition and knowledge structure, and the mental learning mechanism of adult EFL learners. The topic is one branch of the research projects, in order to makes a theoretical investigation and discusses the binding point of the CKBDS theory and adult EFL learners'reading comprehension. The thesis from the study of mother tongue thinking and foreign language thinking at home and abroad, theoretically analyzes the errors made by non-English major students and English major students in psychological reading process and interprets the relationship of thinking and language and the mother tongue transformation in English reading process so as to give some enlightenments to English reading learning and teaching.
