Sun Yat-sen S Livehood Ethics

Sun Yat-sen, as the greatest statesman, revolutionist, thinker of modern China, and pioneer of Chinese democratic revolution had not only led the 1911 Revolution in China, the landmark of China's democratic revolution, but also left valuable legacy of thought to us. His thinking mainly embodied in his "Three People's Principles" doctrine, which summarized the whole idea of the times and the general trend of the history at that time, had a profound impact on modern China and the world.In Sun Yat-sen's "Three People's Principles" doctrine , "Livelihood thinking" is the most characteristic part as well as the most advanced and complete modern ideology of China at that time. It inherits the fine traditional Chinese culture, and integrates the Western democratic thinking . It covers politics, economy, culture, science , technology, education and many other aspects, particularly among which the "equalization of land rights, control of capital and the revitalization of industry" thought is the most important. Sun Yat-sen's livelihood Ethics reflects his great ideal to transform Chinese social and political systems, promote China's social and economic development, seek China's advanced production, and pursue the "society of great harmony" . To some extent, it reflects the contradictions and requirements of Chinese socio-economic development at that time, in accordance with the general trend of the socio-economic development.The people's livelihood is a hot topic in today's society, also an eternal issue for the social development. From the traditional ideology that "the people are the root of the country" to the scientific governing theory of "people-oriented". "livelihood" has always been the important practical problem to be paid attention to and solved by the rulers. Sun Yat-sen's livelihood ethical thinking underlines the dominant position of human in history, and reflects his deep concern about people's lives. At the present time when the ideology of people-oriented is upheld, and more attention is paid to improving people's living conditions, it has important theoretical and practical significance for our building a socialist harmonious society to restudy Sun Yat-sen's livelihood ethical ideas and extract the essence in accordance with the spirit of the times.This paper analyzes the historical background, theoretical sources, ethical dimensions ,and historical dilemma of Sun Yat-sen's Livelihood Ethics. Furthermore, it elaborates the inspirations of the ideology of people's livelihood to the reality in the light of the practical problems occurring in the process of social reform .
