| Sombart and Weber are the initiator of German History, they studied deep on the origin of capitalism, but got different conclusion. Sombart thought that luxury is the genetic motivity, he start with connection of luxury and palace, knight and upstart, luxury and agriculture, commerce and industry, he revealed the important effect of luxury for capitalistic economy deeply, obtained that luxury is the dynamic fountain of capitalism; Weber's interpretation of the origin of the capitalist system is different,He affirmed economic rational factor first, but he focused on study impact of non-rational factor, namely impact of religion. He inspected the inner spirit of the different religious faction and the inner spirit of capitalism since the religion reformation, through this study to establish the research starting point of'vocation concept'.Through the research of Luther's career concept, and combined with the teachings of Calvinism, he established the inherent connection of the vocation and abstinency with the spirit of capitalism, revealing the values of thrift as original motivity of capitalist values. This article through collation and comparison of Sombart and Weber's dynamic theory of luxury and thrift, get out the conclusion that these two people only grasp the different sectors of production and consumption, certainly, these two researches are signality for correctly disposing the relationship of luxury and thrift in the developing process of our socialistic market economy. |
