Ethical Analysis Of Pathological Luxury Consumption

Luxury consumption is increasingly becoming a significant phenomenon inour society in current years. Especially, a lot of social problems related to luxuryconsumption had already attract broad attention among academia, e.g.conspicuous consumption, luxury consumption paid by public money, luxuryconsumption before rich. It is a matter of fact luxury consumption has becomemore and more popular in modern society. There must be a depth relationbetween this consumption pattern and several certain values. However, researchon articles of luxury was limited in economic fields in China. The analysis froman ethical perspective is hence required and necessary.Phenomenon in luxury consumption was chosen as the pointcut and someimportant updated research results of sociology and economics were used forreference. The discussion went deep into the current social and economic life ofChina in spirit, culture and values level. The root of luxury consumption wasdiscussed on the spiritual and cultural plane. The problems and disadvantages ineconomic ethics and the mainstream value of the society was also analysised.After essentially elaborating of the problems and dilemma which was faced bysocial and economic ethics of China, it came forward in this thesis that how asuitable economic spirit should be and how to construct a reasonable conditionof economic ethics.
