In Chinese traditional landscape painting history, the landscape painting of magnificent artistic style in the middle and early Northern Song Dynasty has always been the focus of scholars'research. Exploring the reason why this style was thriving at that time, recently some arguers often think the reason is that an artist was to imitate nature so strong, in fact not the case, while the real reason was caused by the literati mentality at that time.Since the Tang Anshi Rebellion until the Five Dynasties and early Song Dynasty, the political was unrest, and wars were frequent. For Confucian literati painters like Jing Hao and Li Cheng in such a social background, to have a harmonious and satisfactory moral, well-ordered hierarchical society is the biggest dream of their hearts. This is not only that they can achieve the Confucian idea of "and relieve the world" premise of the responsibility, but also to ensure the basic conditions for their own safety. In Song medium term, the Council achieved initial stability, but external and internal conditions were worried for the literati again. The loss of state authority still had them fear, so that the text that people strongly urged the consolidation of State authority and intellectual order had become the same ideals of people's hearts. In the middle and early Northern Song Dynasty the formation of landscape painting of magnificent artistic style was the results of this mentality of the literati. The landscape layout in good order and hierarchy was the natural expression of the mind of a unified authority state that the literati desired. The literati painters were in fact the intention of hiding itself in the material being shaped, inside and outside of painting, through seemingly unrelated physical image, but realized the secret communication of soul.
