Research Of Xu Zhenmin's Piano Works

Among modern composers of China, Xu Zhenmin can be regarded as unique in inheriting music tradition of Chinese nation and drawing marrow of western music .In one hand ,he adopts varies modern composition technique passionately in his works, in another hand , he integrates characteristic color and style of Chinese traditional music into these works . Because of this , his works not only received great honor at homeland, but become extraordinary popular abroad as well.In his piano works , Mr. Xu also managed to express sound effects of Chinese style , inheriting plenty of Chinese traditional music custom such as Sanban Fanyin in guqin music and placed great emphasis on Yinpin and Yunzhi.Although Mr. Xu made bold attempt on integration of Western and eastern music , he still keeps cautious before vast composition technique considering the extent that people can accept and the mission to be a composer .Mr. Xu devotes himself to the extension of Chinese mainland music culture and almost all his works are of oriental color. So that research on these works will be of great significance for further understanding and extension of Chinese music. By analyzing the piano works of Mr. Xu , especially the compositional style ,harmony and musical form of the which received great international honor recently, this article summarizes successful points and how to perform modern works of this sort.Distinct inheritation and development can be found in Mr. Xu's works . For example, in and ,Chinese traditional tone and melody are the main matieral companioned with a small quantity of compound tonalities. By the time of 1980s, Mr. Xu gradually increases the use of combination of the western compositional technique and Chinese traditional mode which is uniquely predominant in characterizing artistic conception. From the very influential work , we can see the accomplishment of Mr. Xu.
