The Russian composer and educator Nikolai Andreivitch Rimsky-Korsakov is one of the founders of the Russian National School as well as the important member of the Free School of Music ( also known as Moguchaya kuchka or The Russian Five).Concerto for trombone in B-flat major is Rimsky-Korsakov's only trombone concerto and one of the few classical trombone concertos, which is still the repertoire of the trombone players'concerts and the designated track of the trombone competitions. Giving a brief introduction to the life and creation background of Rimsky-Korsakov, this thesis will mainly discuss and analyze the musical form, performance and important and difficult points in playing it, aiming at achieving a better and comprehensive understanding of this piece of work and making good preparations for real practice in the future.
