On the ritual thoughts of Liang Shuming is a valuable topic.the discussion of ritual is essentially the further deepening of his cultural outlook. Liang Shuming's ritual thoughts involve the relationship between ritual and rationality, the interaction of ritual and ethics based society, a new ritual and customs and so on. The development of ritual in China has thousands of years histroy, however, during the Wu-Si New Culture Movement, by the impact and influence of western culture, traditional Chinese culture, including ritual studies generalized to the disintegration and collapse. How Chinese society do? and how to continue Chinese culture? This question is placed in front of the most important issue of all intellectuals. Liang Shuming answers to this question is centered on traditional Chinese cultural renaissance. He believes that since China after Confucius, and embarked on the "ethics instead of religion to customs " cultural road, thus all the Chinese people living in the ritual and the ritua becomes the strongest and most powerful fact in China. Therefore,on the blueprint for building a modern society, he is attempting to reconstruct the value of ritual to achieve his ideal society,and he's ritual has a dual meaning, the so-called "ritual designed to conserve rationality and to formulate ethical to arrange Organization of society ".the ritual is the relationship between rationality and moral re-appear, but also to maintain social order and to be the fundamental principles.to Implete a practical level, Liang Shuming proposed establishing a new customs of ritual, which he modified according to Song Lu ethics from a rich friendship, life, meaning upwards of modern society organization.
