Water is the most basic resources for human survival. The earliest human always choose the place which around water and grass to live. Our country has huge land but water resources uneven distribution. Sanxia Water Control Project has a very important strategic significance that enhance China's comprehensive national strength. It play crucial role in the power, flood control and navigation etc, and speed up economic development of China. In addition, the Sanxia Water Control Project will also have an important impact on the ecological environment of reservoir. One of impact is can form a large area along the reservoir fluctuation zone.Chongqing was born because of hill, and flourished for water. Located in the junction of Yangtze River and Jialing River, is typical of the mountain waterfront city, forming the "two rivers and four banks," a unique urban resource. This City was built near the mountain and by the river .As the economic center of Yangtze River area and financial center it will expand to 1,000 square kilometers. It has analyzed and evaluated Chongqing on the ecological environment about riparian status. From the urban landscape level, fluctuating with the region on land use and landscape design methods are discussed. Fluctuating along the proposed city with the theoretical framework of ecological landscape design for the rational development and utilization of science and fluctuating with the city providing a viable basis. It has real relevance and urgency for Waterfront City on the construction of fluctuating Mountain Landscape design.This article is divided into five sections to describe the specific issues.The first chapter expounds the concepts and features of the cities along the riparian zone from research background, significance and purpose, and scope of study, research methods and framework of the paper etc. At the same time, it has explained the landscape, urban environment etc.The second chapter is a review about the influencing factors of domestic riparian vegetation, and the health assessment index system, which is on the research fronts. Then analysis the successful design case of urban waterfront home and abroad, landscape design for our urban waterfront provide the basis for the urban landscape of the optimization and expansion into a wide range of thinking. The third chapter studies on the ecological landscape design of Riparian zone in Chongqing city, introduces the Chongqing location and geomorphological features, and analyzes the importance of urban landscape and urban design. "Two rivers and four banks" features of Chongqing was generalized. The types of ecological landscape structure in the urban, and the existing landscape and ecological problems were analysed.
