Comparative Study Of Opera Turandot And Jinju Dajinzhi

Foreign opera experienced nearly four hundreds years of history, not only did not decline, but renovated and become a global phenomenon of different races and different cultural backgrounds loved by the people. Opera is a unique and beautiful art form, different with the other arts, to many different kinds of components, such as:solo, ensemble, chorus, lighting, design, band, action and dance, be integrated to obtain vitality. As a comprehensive art form, it is mainly expressed in three ways:lines, music, visual images.Classic opera "Turandot" is the last work of Puccini who is the Italian composer. This work is the only Italian opera which used the impressionist technique. The play is about a legend happened in China when the Yuan Dynasty. In the play, Puccini selected song "Jasmine" in tune, gave the play strong oriental flavor, but not losing the traditional style of Italian opera, which made an excellent artistic effect, become the classical repertoire which is frequent performed in the opera stage.Jinju, also known as the "shanxi bangzi" or "zhonglu bangzi",is one of the local Chinese operas.Popular in most parts of Shanxi,Inner Mongolia and the other parts of Hebei,Shaanxi, Gansu. Like other local operas, Jinju is a comprehensive art form made of song, dance and drama.The music of Jinju is Ban qiang ti, mainly singing repertoire is Luan tan, the basic plate has:Siguyan, Jia ban, Erxing, Liushui, Jie ban, Gun bai, Dao ban. The names of opera is divided into "Sixian Paizi","Kuxiangsi" and "Suona Paizi",as many as about three hundred. "Dajinzhi" is classic repertoire of Jinju, which is reservation of various Shanxi Jinju performance groups.After shapen and perfect by several generations of Jinju performing artists, the singing and action of the roles are very sophisticated and stunning.This paper compare with the two Chinese and foreign classical repertoires,is because of they are all "court drama",the heroines of two repertoire both are Chinese princess who are arrogant and beautiful,and through a series of dramatic conflict in the play. This thesis according to the interpretation of two versions:the one is "Turandot" which command by Levin, Domingo in the starring role;the other is "Dajinzhi" which performed by Shanxi Jinju Theater, Wang Ai-ai in the starring role.This paper introduce the script writing, classical arias and perform characteristic of two classic plays, mainly make comparative study for script writing, music composition and performance of two repertoires.And focus on the characteristics of music for further comparison:the design of the arias, choral and duet aria, prelude and creation of inter-play, and scene accompaniment.At present, the comparative study for the Chinese and foreign repertoire, mainly focus on script and music composition characteristics, in domestic, but the comparative study for specific repertoire are deficiency. This paper, through a series of comparative studies, hope to learn excellent writing and performance experience from outstanding foreign opera. For instance, the western symphonic music technology, design of music for people's image, different colors of orchestration techniques.On the basis of traditional, introduce the new composition techniques to improve the creative of the music composition of Jinju, from the perspective of musical innovation to speed up the innovation of the whole drama.
