Fei Ming, originally named Feng Wenbing, was born in Huangmei County, Hubei Province. He strived hard throughout his lifetime in his pursuit of the most natural and harmonious way of life, and, after a series of ups and downs, had finally achieved splendid cultural accomplishment in his own way. When exposed to works of Fei Ming, one can easily be impressed by emotional evocation and emotion evoked, the very two aspects forming the part and parcel of Fei Ming's literary thought. Emotional evocation unmistakably manifests Fei Ming's literary consciousness, while emotion is the character of his literary consciousness. Here in this paperfour chapters are formed to expound on the literary thought of Fei Ming:Chapter One is an expatiation of the author's logic in saying Fei Ming's literary thought is emotional evocation and emotion evoked;Chapter Two indicates that Fei Ming's view on religion and marriage is the cornerstone of his literary thought, and devotes a considerable part to cleayly explaining the relations between this cornerstone and his literary consciousness: Chapter Three deals with the core of Fei Ming's literary thought, the emotion evoked and its distinguishing features; And the last chapter discusses the aesthetic style reflected in this literary view.Fei Ming holds fast quietly to his own literary aesthetic ideal and distinguishes himself as being unique in the history of modern Chinese literature. He insists that one should proceed from his innermost feeling and temperament in literary creation in that only by absorbing nutrition from the fertile soil of soul can literary works be perceived as vigorous and living. He once remarked that"all those literary works with vigor and vitality are realistic."Fei Ming's sense of realistic writing shows itself in a way different from none of others. Essentially what he depicts in his works is not the ever-changing real life, but the truthfulness deep in his heart. By staying true to his heart, he endows his works with powerful persuasion. Given that things that happen in daily life are subject to disorderliness, transient, intangible yet peculiar consiousness should be given full play if the author intends his works to be close to real life. And this peculiarity should be ascribed to nothing but the emotion involved in the work. Each and every one of Fei Ming's works can both stand independently and be perfectly incorporated into his other works as an integrated whole by virtue of their internal unity. This has undoubtly enabled his works to be of lasting appeal and distinctive style, which demonstrate a harmonious life. The striking characteristic and temperament presented in Fei Ming's works deeply engrave his works with his unique writing style.
