The Liberation Of The Image

At present, we see a variety of art forms and the big scale in the world of art. The art practices in today's world, compared with the times when there is a lot of limitations of art categories and functions, is of huge difference.The media that people are able to control nowadays is growing very fast, which is of great accuracy and adaptability. It is convinced that in the near future, the industry of'aesthetics'would be changed dramatically. Having passed these ages, nowadays, the materials, spaces, and even times are fairly different. What we should expect is that such an important new phase would make all art practices change drastically, thus encouraging more inventions,and even change the ideas of art.The advent of the photography revolutionized the way people see. In the long history of human civilization,the photography completely liberated the forms of art,and redefined the concept of art.This thesis firstly looks back the advent of the photography and the history of the image, then through describing the use of technology by the classic artists, presenting the promoting function to art implemented by the advanced technology. Following the reflection on the image by the art historians, this paper gives several examples to represent the impact on art in general by images. To explore possibilities after the revolution is the most important part of the thesis. Last but not least, we will make the focus on the new media art, and view the future of new media art in today's society.
