Songs accompanied by digging drums are a kind of art form combing labor, folk songs and music, was spread in the tujia communities, and different names for different places, called "luoguha" in tujia nationality, while "daliuzi" in the folk. The art is one of the folk art form in Western Hunan Province with very strong vitality, geographical characteristics and lots of songs, which was closely linked to the tujia daily life, and deeply loved by the people of Tujia. It featured the free rhythm, and the high-pitched tone. sometimes radical, sometimes delicate euphemism, sometimes humorous fun; in theme, there ware plenty of sources, Ancient Legends, Contemporary stories, or improvised songs based on the labor scene, accompanied by gongs and drums to render the extremely busy scene of labor. This paper analyzed the raw folk songs came from the tujia communities in several aspects like origins, features, music forms, melodic characteristics, Lyrics and melody matching, Aria and so on, aiming to set an example for the folk development by means of further understanding and study.This paper consisted of six parts, Introduction and five chapters. Firstly, Overview on the folk art about geographical environment, origins, and the meanings. Secondly, description of Hunan tujia music about the content, meaning to the " tujia", and the singing process. Thirdly, Analytical study on the musical characteristics about melodic tone, structure, form and accompaniments. Fourthly, Analysis on the songs about the singing style. Fifthly, tips of thoughts about the songs, including the understanding of the folk life and crafts, Linguistic characteristics of speech, singing features, to improve the overall qualities and skillful vocal skills, and to set an example for the folk development. The last, Conclusion about the cultural heritage and endangered meanings to display the national culture inherent in the yongshun songs.
