Husserl's phenomenology faces a server criticism from its date of birth:as a kind of philosophy based on the testimony of the first-person consciousness, it is difficult to clearly explain the "other consciousness". Therefore, Husserl will face one of the most famous paradox in the history of philosophy——"other mind problem".This author deems that we should take the evolution of "ego" theory as a breakthrough point, in order to explain the relation between Husserl's phenomenology and the "other mind, and to clarify whether "other mind problem" has been solved or can be solved by Husserl's phenomenology. The reasons are as follows:first of all, the obvious reason why Husserl's phenomenology faces the challenge of the other mind problem is that "ego" is endowed with the absolute priority in epistemology. But this priority is in fact emerging from the evolution of Husserl's "ego" theory developing from nothing and weak. Thus, if we need to comprehensively understand the relation between Husserl's phenomenology and the other mind problem, we must comprehend the process of this evolution. Secondly, if we need to resolve the other mind problem, the key point is to cancel the inequality in the epistemology between the other and ego. And if we research whether this inequality can be cancelled and how to be cancelled, mechanism of self-knowledge in the "ego" theory (including reflection and self-consciousness) becomes a crucial factor, which directly relates to the ego theory. Thirdly, Husserl attempts to resolve the other mind problem by analyzing the "strange experience". However, this analysis actually traces back to the transcendental ego.The main content of this article contains following four parts:1. A brief introduction of the other mind problem in history of philosophy and a short discuss of the reason why Husserl's phenomenology faces this challenge.2. An introduction of the self theory and relevant theories on the position of the no-ego theory in the early Husserl, and a research whether this position will be propitious to solve the other mind problem.3. An introduction of the evolution of Husserl's "ego" theory after his "the transcendental turn", and his approach to solve the other mind problem on the position of "egology".4. A usual comment of whether the other mind problem can be solved and how to be solved under the epistemology, and an overall summarize.
