| Wang Shihuai, also known as Tang Nan, is a philosopher in the Ming Dynasty, belonging to Wang Yangming School. Wang Yangming, who first put forward the definition of "cardiology", holds that cardiology is the "pursuit of conscience" and cultivation of ethical attainments in both active and inactive ways. During the transmission and development of Wang Yangming's cardiology, however, different scholars in this school formed different characteristics and displayed various tendencies, resulting in quite a few drawbacks. Wang Shihuai initiated his doctrine of "understanding study" out of his criticisms of "advocating inaction". Three major research techniques, i.e., citation, descriptive method and exploratory method are employed in this paper.. After reading "You Qing Tang He Gao" from cover to cover, the author tries to communicate with our forefathers, so as to comprehend Wang Shihuai's "understanding study" more deeply.This paper will illustrate Wang Shihuai's research in cardiology from the following aspects:Chapter 1 is about the development history of Xin-xing study. In this chapter, the development history of Xin-xing study and Wang Yangming's cardiology will be briefly introduced. Chapter 2 deals with the ontology of ideological nature. In this chapter, Wang Shihuai's theory of human nature will be illustrated from two major aspects, i.e., nature's creation of everything and nature as noumenon. And the following are illustrated in details:the reason why theory of human nature is put forward, the natural and social characteristics of the theory, and the ideological human nature. Chapter 3 is about Wang Shihuai's "understanding study". He takes understanding as purpose and study as essence. Besides,he brings forward the method of "study" through the relationship between idea of consciousness and study, and reaches "understanding study" via "ethical attainments". Chapter 4 is the evaluation of Wang Shihuai's cardiology theories.
