Study The Way Of Guo Moruo Collating Ancient Chinese Characters

Guo Moruo(1892——1978), named Dingtang,born in Leshan Sichuan province,he is one of the "Oracle bones experts 4". Guo Moruo who has great achievements and discovery in ancinent writing research got common praise from academe,And the methods which lead to Guo Moruo's achievements are well thought of by many scholars.The thesis composed of 5 chapters and appendix.Chapter 1 introduces the subject,the studying of the subject in and out,the value and the purpose in this paper.Chapter 2 introduces Go Moruo's achievemens in oracle bone's collecting and studying,oracle classification,inscription collecting and studying,stone-drum inscription studying,other writing style research. Chapter 3 is the key part in this paper, it studies the way of Guo Moruo collating ancient chinese charaters.This part bases on the results of Guo's study of ancient writing,analize the process of collating ancient chinese charaters,and learning the previous methods which people used in collating ancient chinese charaters.This chapter divided the collating methods into 6 parts:explanation,distinguishing true and false classfication,collation distinguishing the decade,conjugating the oracle bones,moreover,we classfied the 6 parts into more detailed parts.On doing this,we can summarize the methods which Guo Moruo used comprehensively.Beacause Guo's methods had a great break form traditional methods,this chapter also summarize the special method of Guo Moruo.The comment of Chapter 4 is extending from last chapter,this part concerned on errors which Guo Moruo made in collating chinese charaters,and analizes the limited of Guo's methods.With analizing the methods of Guo Moruo,chapter 5 summmarized the thought which Guo Moruo had during he collating the ancient charaters,this part illustrate Guo's thought in 3 respects,these are:utilizing Marxist materialist view of history in ancient character study is the feature of Gou Moruo's thought; critisize and receive form the traditional textology;Serious attitude on science.Appendix is the last part,it includes Statistical Analysis of Guo's methods,The year book of Guo Moruo study ancient character.
